Here’s some resources to add to your own photos, notes, sketches and mobile phone videos.
Photos:
Because I love you, I’ve uploaded my photographs to Flickr.

To download them, click the photos, then “All Sizes” There’s now a link to download the picture. There are plenty of other images from previous years on shared documents. (btw, using your own pictures is preferable and can get you extra credit.)
Where did we go?

Here’s a Microsoft Virtual Earth map of the sites. Choose Aerial view to zoom right in. I’m sure you can make use of this web site in your write-up
The Google Earth resource I used with the “amazin” overlays and pictures can be downloaded here (if you have Google Earth obviously)
Other resources:
including links to the Bradshaw Model, information about flooding and the shingle ridge are here. Do ask questions about the coursework via the blog if you like!

Where did we go?

You can follow the trip as a Google Earth fly-through, and click on the case study locations for more information. Download the file to see where we went!
London field trip (if you have Google Earth at home)
View in Google Maps (if you don’t have Google Earth)
Pictures:
Pictures in Splashr (as seen in the lesson)
Pictures at Flickr (high quality versions)
Follow up tasks:
1) Write a poem
I would like you to complete two tasks. The first one is creative. Write a short poem using some of the words and ideas from your trip booklet. Use the photographs for inspiration. You should focus on one of the following areas:
South Bank (edge of CBD)
The City (CBD)
Brick Lane / Banglatown (Inner city)
Docklands (Large scale redevelopment)
Choose one of the photos from the links above to be a display background to your poem, or use one of your own images. You can email me your photo and poem if you like, or submit it via the comments form.
Here is some inspiration for you:
London Docklands
Liverpool Docks / Toxteth
2) Exam question:
- What can planners do to improve the environment of inner city areas? (4 marks)
- In many MEDC cities there are problems in the CBD. Using one or more examples, describe some of the schemes being used to improve these areas. (6 marks)
